The one that usually spells eyebrow threading and nail polish in bold capital letters. I walked in with a question that has haunted mankind since the days of flared trousers — “Do you serve the stronger gender?” And to my surprise, the answer was a confident, welcoming *yes*. No hesitation. No sideways glance. Just a warm smile and a chilled Bisleri water bottle. For a brief second, I felt like royalty — dehydrated royalty, but royalty nonetheless. The lady at the front desk, sharp as a barber’s razor, asked me to register on their website. I did. They gave me a discount. I didn’t argue. Who argues with discounts? Enter Mr Eren Mangar. Hair specialist. Beard whisperer. Patron saint of symmetry. He took his time with me. Not in a bored, let’s-drag-this-out kind of way, but like a sculptor with a stubborn block of granite. Each snip was deliberate. Each trim, an act of defiance against age and unruliness. By the end of it, I looked ten years younger. Ten. My own beard didn’t recognise me. The salon itself was spotless. Clean mirrors, cool air-conditioning, soft music that didn't make me question my life choices — everything you want when someone’s wielding scissors around your ears. The decor was pleasant. No overkill. No purple chandeliers or abstract art trying too hard. Just good taste. Would I recommend this place to the men of Velachery? Absolutely. Go in shaggy. Come out sharper than a tax audit.
